What we do
Managed book production for K–12 educational publishers
We are not a software vendor and not a composition shop. A publisher commissions a title; we plan it, write it, illustrate it, compose it and hand it back press-ready on a fixed date. Your editorial team does not change how it works.
Managed book production means one supplier carries a title from curriculum to press-ready file, and carries the deadline with it. Not a tool you operate. Not a subscription. A finished book, on a date you can plan a print run around.

| Eight handoffs to project-manage | One supplier, one schedule |
| Authoring, illustration, composition sourced separately | One commission covers all of it |
| Your team absorbs every delay | We carry the delivery date |
| Cost grows only by hiring | Fixed fee agreed before we start |
What a commission includes
Six things, one fee, one date
One commission, or six purchase orders
The same six packages on one axis
Sourced separately
Six briefs, six schedules · 4–6 months
Every seam is a handoff your team briefs, chases and reconciles. The date is the sum of six schedules, and it moves whenever one of them does.
One commission
One brief, one schedule · 20 working days
The same six packages, with the seams inside our schedule rather than yours. One date, one fee, one supplier answering for all of it.

Curriculum mapping and chapter planning
We structure the syllabus into a chapter sequence with learning outcomes, depth calibrated to the grade band and a fixed page budget. You approve this before anything is produced.
Editorial content
Chapter text, worked examples, activities, exercises and end-of-chapter assessments, written to NCF 2023 sequencing with a measurable Bloom’s distribution per chapter.
Illustration and figures
Labelled diagrams, figures and captions produced to your house style at print resolution, delivered with source files you keep.
Composition and pagination
The interior composed to your template and your printer’s specification, with extent held to the agreed page budget.
Front and back matter
Table of contents, preface, glossary, index and answer key, consistent with the composed interior.
Compliance annexure and change log
Every competency traced to a unit, page and assessment item, plus a page-level record of what changed from your previous edition.
Pick the commission that matches the risk you want to take
Most publishers start here
Edition Rebuild
You have an existing title that needs regenerating for NCF 2023. The content exists, so this is the fastest and lowest-risk way to start.
Twenty working days
A full grade band
Series Programme
A full grade band taken as one commission, with terminology, difficulty and figure style held consistent across every title.
Scheduled as one project
From the syllabus up
New Title Origination
A title written from the syllabus up, with original illustration briefs and extended review cycles.
Scoped and quoted per commission
Most publishers start with an Edition Rebuild. It is the commission where AI-assisted production is most reliable and where you can judge the result against something you already know.
Four things we will not sell you
We do not print or distribute.
You take the press-ready files to your own printer on your own terms.
We do not take rights in your content.
Copyright in everything we deliver assigns to you on final payment.
We do not sell you software.
There is no platform, licence, seat count or subscription in this offer.
We do not deliver unsupervised AI output.
Our own subject editors review every chapter before you see it, and nothing is called final until you have signed it off.
The production details that decide whether a file survives the press
Page budget held as a hard constraint
A chapter that runs three pages long costs real money at press. Extent is fixed at the planning stage, not discovered at prepress.
Composed to the printer’s maths
Interiors are built to signature multiples so you are not paying for half-empty formes. We work back from your printer’s specification.
Devanagari set properly
Conjunct rendering, matra positioning, justification and line-breaking handled deliberately. This is where most automated output fails visibly on the page.
Consistency held across the series
Terminology, difficulty, tone and figure style enforced across every title in a grade band, not just within a chapter.
Extent and signatures
Why the page budget is fixed before anything is written
A press does not print pages. It prints signatures — sheets folded into sixteens. An interior of 208 pages is thirteen full formes with nothing wasted.
Run three pages long and you buy a fourteenth forme to carry them, and pay to bind thirteen blank pages behind them. That is why extent is agreed at the planning stage.

13 formes, nothing wasted. This extent falls exactly on a signature multiple, so you pay to bind only pages that carry text.

Confidentiality
Your manuscripts never leave a controlled environment
Ownership
Full copyright in all delivered content assigns to you on final payment. The book carries your imprint and your voice. We claim no residual rights.
Isolation
Each publisher’s material is produced in a separate controlled workspace. Your content is never used to produce another publisher’s title.
Non-disclosure
A mutual NDA covering your unreleased content, schedules and commercial terms is signed before any material is exchanged.
Provenance
Every delivered title carries an origin record for its content and figures, so your rights team can answer questions years later.
Why not ChatGPT
Why not just put your team on a general AI tool?
You should be using one — for drafting. It is a tool your team operates. We are a production line we operate. The difference is not the model.
| Dimension | Your team on a general AI tool | AuthoMate managed delivery |
|---|---|---|
| Consistency at scale | Drifts across 200 pages, collapses across a series | Held across every title in the grade band |
| Print-ready output | Produces text; your team still does all layout | The deliverable is the composed press-ready file |
| Indic typography | No control over conjuncts, matras or justification | Handled in composition by trained operators |
| Curriculum evidence | Asserts alignment convincingly, cannot prove it | Mapping annexure traceable to page and item |
| Print economics | No awareness of extent, forme or signature | Page budget treated as a hard constraint |
| Output variance | Fifteen editors, fifteen different standards | One standard, one specification, versioned |
| Accountability | None. If the book is wrong, it is your problem | A contract, a date, a correction cycle, a refund clause |
| Confidentiality | Unreleased manuscripts pasted into a public tool | Signed NDA and IP assignment before any file moves |
A general tool sells your team capability and leaves you carrying all the risk. We sell a finished outcome and carry the risk ourselves.
